Chris’ house isn’t as huge as Faith’s but it is three storeys high.
Faith goes in and isn’t greeted by anyone. Faith scans through his place. It feels empty. Not because there is no one at home but because Chris’s place has very limited furniture.
“Is anyone home?” Faith asks.
“I think my brothers are,” Chris says. “But make yourself at home. They don’t really go out of their room unless they are hungry or going out.”
“What about your parents?”
“I think they are not home yet, just come in.”
Faith sits on the couch as Chris switches the television on.
“Do you want anything?” Chris asks.
“Nah, it’s fine,” Faith says.
“I’ll get a drink for you.”
Faith hears someone walking in the front door. A thin-sized teenager walks in and smiles at her. To Faith, he looks like the younger version of Chris. Like a younger doppelgänger.
“Hey,” Joey says.
“Hello,” Faith doesn't know what else to say.
“Alone?” Joey trying to start a conversation.
“Chris getting something from the kitchen.”
“Oh, so you’re a friend or girlfriend?”
“Girlfriend,” Chris interrupts. “Go and shower. You smell like shit.”
Joey rolls his eyes and walks up the stairs.
“He looks almost like you but so much younger,” Faith says.
“He’s your age.”
“Oh,” Faith still wonders why Chris chose her. She is five years younger than him. He will be stepping into the world of the twenties while she is halfway through being a teenager. He’s old enough to be dating a mature woman that has a job.
“I want to get a drink later,” Chris turns to her. “Do you?”
“Drink?” Faith is confused because she was clearly holding onto a cup. She raises her cup, "I have this?"
“What, no,” Chris chuckles. "As in alcoholic drink?"
“Oh, that,” Faith bites her lips. "No thank you. I'm not 18, remember?"
Chris turns to Faith and studies her gestures.
She has a worried face on her that makes him think she looks so cute. Chris chuckles at her and stood up to the door.
“Where are we going?” Faith stammers.
“To get my drink?” Chris says trying to hide his laugh hearing her sound worried.
“Oh,” Faith says in uncertainty. She heard stories about females getting raped by an intoxicated male. She is only 13 going on 14. She's afraid.
Faith is scared. She doesn't know what to do if he was to get drunk. She takes her purse and follows him out.
“Why are you so quiet?” Chris asks.
“Huh, oh, it’s nothing,” Faith says. “I’m alright.”
“I won’t get drunk, don’t worry.”
Did he just read my mind?
She just keeps silent. Chris just needed a boost. He never intended to get drunk.
Faith follows him from the back. She was not exposed to having a tattooed boyfriend let alone alcohol. She heard stories about people getting drunk and losing themselves or getting abusive too. Everything about drunk people starts to fill her mind.
“What the fuck is she doing here?” Chris mumbles under his breath.
“Who?” Faith heard him.
Faith follows his gaze and sees three females with a few other males in their early twenties chilling at a gazebo. Faith has no clue who they are.
Chris doesn't want Lydia to feel that she had distracted his attention. He holds Faith’s hand. Faith feels a jolt in her. That is the first time they held hands. Her thoughts suddenly go blurry. She has more than butterflies in her stomach.
Chris walks past them without acknowledging them. One of the guys calls out for him but Chris gives him a middle finger and continues walking.
“Who are they?” Faith asks.
Chris simply replies, “Sluts.”
“Oh,” Faith doesn’t want to ask anymore after looking at how annoyed Chris’s face is.
He walks out of the minimart with a bottle of beer in his hand and said, “Wanna chill somewhere?”
Faith shrugs her shoulders, her eyes looking at the beer bottle.
Chris has been noticing her the whole journey to the minimart. She has a worried look on her face. “I know where," Chris says. "Let’s go.” Chris reaches for Faith's hand again.
The view is a park and a playground where children are seen running around. Chris knows what was going on in her mind. He doesn’t want her to be afraid of him. Faith is relieved at where they are chilling at. Children are screaming and laughing everywhere, parents are looking after their kids and most importantly it is an open space.
“Feeling better?” Chris chuckles. Faith smiles in embarrassment thinking that Chris knows what she felt the whole journey here. “I’m really not a bad person you know.”
“You sure about that?” Faith giggles. Chris takes a sip from the bottle and then looks down.
“What’s wrong?” Faith asks.
“Nothing,” Chris says. Faith doesn’t buy it.
“Who are those people that called out your name?” Faith asks again. “May I know?”
“One of the females is Lydia,” Chris pauses and looks at Faith’s reaction. Her lips pressed, looking down and feels instant regret in asking. “All the other males were my friends. I said ‘were’ because they didn’t know that I know about them with Lydia.”
Chris looks like he is stressed about something.
“Are you alright?” Faith asks and Chris nods. “But you don’t look alright to me.”
“What do you want me to feel then?” Chris feels annoyed. “How do you want me to look like?”
Chris doesn’t want the sight of Lydia to bother him, but it did. Lydia was the girl that he thought was the one. He stares at the bottle. His anger is showing from those thoughts he has about Lydia.
“I’m sorry for asking,” Faith says looking down at her fingers. She doesn’t know what else to say.
Chris’ heart softens at the sound of her saying sorry. Even then, Chris can’t show that it did. He turns to face Faith and leans closer.
His breath is getting closer to her. Her heart is racing, and her face is flushed. He knows what is happening inside of her. He smirks looking at how nervous she is. His hand slowly grabs her by her waist. She jolts and moves away.
“What’s wrong?” Chris asks.
“It’s just… I'm not used to this,” Faith says.
“I just wanted a kiss,” Chris says. “A kiss from my own GIRLFRIEND. Why can’t I?” Chris is annoyed. He turns away and continues to drink.
She can’t think. She wants him. She cares for him. She loves him.
Why was giving him that kiss so difficult?
Without a second thought, she reaches for him and gives him a peck on his cheek. She is so embarrassed. She looks away.
That was her first-ever kiss.
“Nothing,” Chris says. Faith doesn’t buy it.

Hmmm I understand why Faith is concerned about their age difference. It does make certain situations very awkward. I was always awkward around people who drank when I was younger and never drank before. A lot of the times we don't understand alcohol and what it does until we experience it ourselves. It's cool he didn't pressure her to drink. Lydia sucks. I'm glad they had their first kiss... I hope Chris is sincere. It seems like he has a lot that he's dealing with emotionally.
