Faith is alone in school again. Annie is ignoring her and so does Amy.
Amy had no choice. Annie has been her best friend way before Faith joined them.
Amy feels sorry for Faith. But what can she do?
Harry has been noticing her for the past few days. It is obvious that she is alone.
But her loneliness seems different this time. She has a smile on her face now and then.
Must be someone new.
Faith goes over to her locker to take her stuff before going home.
She closes her lockers and is surprised by Harry.
"Boo!" Harry surprises her.
"Oh, it's you." Faith says. She then turns and walks away.
"Are you alright, Faith?" Harry follows.
Faith turns around and says, "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, Annie and Amy are nowhere to be seen around you anymore. And well, you are alone. I am concerned about you."
"If you really need to know, I am perfectly fine." Faith turns and walks a step in front then stops and turns back again. "No, actually I never felt better!" She winks at Harry and happily skips away.

"Hey man. I saw this one chick last night!" Eric whistles. "She is smokin'!"
"Good for you, man" Chris replies.
"You are still thinking about Lydia?" Eric asks when he realises Chris wasn't interested in his ‘smokin' chick.
"Fuck her! Why the hell would I think of her?"
"I don't know, man. Probably because you have a FREAKING TATTOO OF HER NAME at the back of your neck?!"
"I'm covering it up as soon as I have the money."
"So, what's up?" You've been quiet." Eric asks.
"Mind your own business, man"
"Chill, you'll get over Lydia soon." Eric gives a smirk on his face and laughs. Chris ignores.
Then, Eric sees someone. "Hey man look! Isn't that, Aiken, Aaron's brother?"
Seconds after, Aaron appears behind Aiken.
Aaron was Chris's childhood friend. And he was also one of his friends that slept with Lydia.
Eric saw Chris' face. "Don't make a fuss here, man."
"Who said I am going to?" Chris says with a cheeky smile.
Aaron sees Chris from a distance and looks away pretending that he didn't see Chris.
"Bro, cover me." Chris signals Eric.
"Always got your back man," Eric says.
Chris walks to him and taps his shoulder. Aaron jumps.
"Hey Aaron," Chris says.
"Oh, umm, hey Chris." Aaron sounds nervous.
"Are you okay? You looked like you've seen a ghost."
"I'm sick today actually." Aaron straightens his shirt.
"You're sick huh?" Chris takes a quick punch in Aaron's face. "I feel sicker looking at your face son of a bitch!"
Chris shoves him hard causing Aaron to fall hard on the ground
Chris then kicks Aaron's groin. "And that is for messing with my life!"
"Man let's go, Aiken's coming back!" Eric grabs Chris.
"Don't make me see your face again asshole!"
They run as fast as they can.
They are laughing so hard.
"That felt better!" Chris says, gasping for air.
Chris's phone rings.
"Oh, hey sweety," Chris says. "Uh, huh. Well okay. Love you. Bye"
"Who was that?" Eric was curious.
"Someone I know."
"Hot and sexy I assume?"
"Nah, she's decent."
"How decent?" Eric asks.
"Let's just say that she's a virgin," Chris whispers.
"You are not that cruel are you Chris? That's not our way man."
"She's different. I'm not doing what you think I'm doing!"
Faitherine Swan
"Baby, I'm already at home," Faith calls Chris. "I'll talk to you soon? Love you too. Bye."
She goes home alone. It just seems like those days again. She switches on the television in her room thinking she might need some TV time. But then she starts to wonder why Harry was so curious about her.
Gosh! He needs to quit stalking me!
She goes to her bed and slams herself on it.
Urgh! I can't wait for the holidays to come!
Being at school was rough. Friends just come and go. Well, as for Chris, so far he is great for her.
Her phone beeps and it is a message from Chris:
Baby, are we meeting soon?
The question that she has been ignoring for quite some time.
She replies:
Not so soon hun. I'm busy with schoolwork since the holiday is coming.
And the first week of the holiday I am having a family gathering at East Coast Park Chalet.
Maybe the week after that?
Chris's reply makes Faith skip a beat:
I am having a birthday party there too and it is in the same week!
Why don't we meet there?
There's no way out. She just replies:
Okay! (:
She needs to get her mind off Chris. She would become nervous thinking about it.
Faith goes down to the kitchen and saw her mum. "Mum where's Ashley?"
"She's playing with her toys in her crib," Her mum says. "Look after her for me, would you? There's too much work to be done here. It's not like you would help!"
"Okay, mum!" Faith giggles.
“Ashley!” Faith calling for her. “There you are!”
Her phone suddenly rings. Amy's name appears on the phone screen.
"Hello, Faith! No questions. Switch on your laptop ASAP! And log in to your Friendster!"
(Author’s Note: I guess only 90’s kids know this website?)
Amy sounds anxious.
"Hold on Amy," Faith put Ashley down. "Farrel! Urgent call. Look after Ashley!"
She runs to her room.
"I'm there," Faith is panting. "WHAT?!"
"Is that Chris?" Amy asks.
"What? Where?"
"Under your 'Featured Friend'?"
"Well yeah. He's cute isn't he?"
"Yeah, but not when he has a tattoo!"
"He does? How do you even know?"
"Look at his fourth picture in his album."
Faith is speechless. She never had a friend with a tattoo before.
"Faith? Faith?" Amy says.
"I'll call you back later." She hangs up.
She is freaked out. She keeps asking herself, "Who is he? What kind of person is he? Is he some hooligan?" Faith feels afraid all of a sudden.
She jumps at the sound of her phone beeping. It is a message from Chris:
Baby, are you calling me soon?
I'm waiting. I'm missing you.
She puts her phone down without replying to Chris.
She lies down on her bed staring at the phone.
Why am I afraid of those kinds of men?
Christopher Hamilton
Damn! Why she keeps on doing this to me?!
Chris has been texting and calling Faith the whole afternoon but there isn't any reply at all.
Chris calls Eric.
"Hey man, want to go out and have a drink or something?"
"You just kicked me out of your house just to chat with your girl and now you are dragging me out? What's up, man?"
"Shut up and meet me at the usual place at 10." Chris hangs up.
I won't be like some dog waiting for her call!
Chris arrives at the club first and orders a glass of beer first.
When Eric arrived, he taps on Chris' shoulder.
“What happened man? You look depressed." Eric asks.
"What is wrong with me, man? Why do girls just go when I start to like them but they come crawling when I'm such a jerk? When I'm pulling myself closer, they start pushing, man."
"Hey man, cheer up!" Eric gives a pat on Chris' shoulder. "You can get 10 girls better than her. Just by a snap, girls will start coming. Why stick with one?"
"I want to have a life. A life with the girl I love. How long do you want me to play that game? I’m nineteen and I'm tired. Girls are all the same. But Faith, she's different. I don't know why but there's like an invisible large amount of force right now trying to pull me back home and call her until she answers."
"You're in love, man!" Eric shrugs at Chris and laughs. "And you are serious this time."
Chris smiles shyly. Chris thinks that might be true. But there won't be anything if Faith doesn't have any feelings for him too.
"So, what now? Do you want to stay here and have fun with me or are you going to let that "force" pull you?" Eric smirks.
At the same time, Faith calls.
"Hold that thought," Chris says.
"Hey, baby, what happened?" Chris asks.
"Can I talk t-- Where are you?" Faith asks.
"I'm at the club with my friend. You sounded like you just woke up--"
"For?"
"I'm not doing anything baby. Just sitting around enjoying the place."
"Enjoying the place?"
"Just relaxing baby, why?"
"Call me when you're free then okay?"
"Well I did but y--" Faith hangs up.
"What now?" Eric asks as soon as he sees Chris' confused face.
"I think she is mad or something."
"For what? Going to a club? Dude, you are not even doing anything bad."
Chris' eyes widen.
"That's it! I know why! Oh my god, why didn't I notice?!" Chris says. Eric is clueless. "She's a decent girl. She doesn't know about this side of the world. She thinks clubbing is bad and all. Man, I think I have some explaining to do!"
"Umm, good luck?" Eric is stunned and Chris was nowhere to be seen.
Faitherine Swan
Chris is at a club and all Faith is thinking about is the bad things that Chris might be doing there.
Her phone beeps. Chris texts her:
Baby, I'm on my way home now. Please answer me when I call you later okay? Love you.
It is like Chris knows that Faith wouldn't answer.
About 10 minutes later, Chris calls.
"Hello, my love!" Chris said cheerfully.
"Hey" Faith responded.
"Are you alright? Do you want to talk about it?"
"I don't think this is going to work."
"No, no, no. Please don't say that. What happened?"
"Who are you, Chris? I want to know."
"I guess I knew that you are going to ask me something like that soon."
"Well?"
"Okay, here goes. And please do not hang up before I am done. Promise?" Chris said.
"Yeah, okay promise."
Faith was quiet at first. Then tears starts rolling down her cheeks as soon as Chris said, "I've slept with many girls before." She mutes her phone on her side so that Chris won't hear her cry. He did drugs, he drinks and he fights. Those were too much for Faith. Just too much.
"Chris, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry but let us end it here okay?" Faith interrupts Chris and hangs up the phone immediately. She cries to sleep.
Hmmm... I've never heard of Friendster but I was born in the late 90's....1998. I used AIM lol.
ReplyDeleteThis story brings back so much memories of online chatting and dating for me. I understand why Faith is nervous to meet Chris. Sometimes people don't want to talk after meeting.
Amy and Annie seem a little judgemental... Tattoos aren't necessarily a bad thing. It's a form of expression. And yeah, Chris has a past but people change... I know that is a lot to hear when someone like Faith has never been with a guy like that before. I've been there and done that... I don't know why but it jurts and sucks to know that the guy you love used to be a "bad boy" because you always worry about whether they're being honest. I like Chris though. I'm rooting for him. :)
but it *hurts*
DeleteFriendster? Never heard of it. I was born in the late 90s, about three years before Sims 1 came out. Chris is a hottie, but part of me wonders if he's still a player or is simply non-committal. I don't want to see Faith be heartbroken again.
